Position Summary:

The Department of Animal & Veterinary Science (AVS) in the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) invites applications for two tenure track faculty positions in beef production medicine at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.

The primary responsibility of both positions is teaching of beef production medicine and general food animal blocks for 4th year veterinary students from the partnership in veterinary education with Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine (WSU CVM) in Pullman, WA.

One position will be on the Moscow, ID, campus and the other position will be based in Twin Falls, ID.

(Applicants will need to clarify which location they would prefer)

Minimum Qualifications:


PHD or DVM required;

Ability to become a licensed veterinarian in Idaho is required;

Capable of providing excellent primary care for all large food animal species but will have a focus on beef production medicine;

Experience in reproductive management, preventative medicine, records analysis, and raising replacements is required;

Research experience will be considered a strong asset;

Must demonstrate ability to collaborate with other faculty in AVS in teaching, advising, and conducting research trials.

Must also have the desire and ability to interact with veterinary practitioners and livestock producers in Idaho;

Preferred Qualifications:


Advanced training and board eligibility or certification in a relevant specialty;

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Successful candidate will regularly be expected to handle livestock, work outdoors, and may need to carry materials in excess of 50 pounds. Extensive travel will be expected at times throughout the year.
