Special Appointment 9-month Assistant Professor in Veterinary Communications
The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for a special appointment, 9-month Assistant Professor in Veterinary Communication or Education. The communication curriculum is a model program and received recognition by the AVMA Council of Education. CSU veterinary students receive 50 hours of highly experiential communication education throughout the curriculum. The program conducts the FRANK and Communication Coaching Skills workshops with a national reputation for transformative continuing education. Anticipated percentage time allocations for this position are 45% teaching, 30% service and 25% research. Teaching responsibilities include communication modules in "Foundations in Veterinary Medicine", two immersive Junior Practicum "Clinical Communication Skills" Courses, Community Practice Senior Rotation, and the Healer’s Art, as well as the FRANK and Communication Coaching Skills continuing education workshops. Requirements include an advanced degree in communication or education, or in a medical field with experience in teaching communication.
