The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan invites applications for the following open positions:

Small Animal Dermatology:

The Western College of Veterinary Medicine: The WCVM is western Canada’s regional college of veterinary medicine. Approximately 80 students from the four western provinces and the northern jurisdictions are admitted each year to the DVM program. The College also includes 140 graduate students, interns and residents. It is part of a comprehensive academic health sciences group on the university campus including the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition and College of Medicine, with access to facilities including the PET-CT, Canadian Light Source and the Biomedical Beamline. The Veterinary Medical Centre: The VMC has undergone substantial expansion and renovation, and is currently an outstanding state-of-the-art facility serving western Canada as an AVMA and AAHA accredited hospital and referral centre. Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates include: high quality instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinarians, participation and organizational responsibility in the clinical teaching and clinical service programs of the Veterinary Medical Centre, and scholarship and clinical research. Contributions to the continuing education of practicing veterinarians will be encouraged and expected.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess a DVM degree or its equivalent and must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan. The successful candidates should be Diplomates of their specialty college or have credentials acceptable to their specialty college at the time the appointment becomes effective. Diplomate status is required for tenure. Possession of an advanced degree is desirable.

Salary & Benefits: The current faculty salary ranges are: Assistant Professor is $93,293.00- $112,109.00; Associate Professor $112,109.00-$130,925.00; Full Professor $130,925.00-$152,877.00. Faculty positions come with a comprehensive benefits package which includes pension plan (tenure-track positions only), life insurance (compulsory and voluntary),sick leave, travel insurance, death benefit, dental plan, extended health and vision care plan, employee assistance program and flexible health and wellness spending program. Our Faculty positions also come with a very attractive start-up package approximating $125,000.
