The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant position. The purpose of this position is to perform basic research on swine infectious viral diseases and to develop antivirals for Rift Valley fever and influenza viruses.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree.

Highly motivated individuals are sought with an extensive research background in molecular virology, and antiviral development. The successful candidate should have virology research background; have basic molecular virology techniques (e.g. virus isolation; HI and immunohistochemistry; expression & purification of viral protein and recombinant protein; cloning and basic molecular work); familiar with antiviral screening and testing; and experience working with different animal model such as chicken, mouse and swine at BSL-2 and BSL-3 facilities.
