The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory with the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant. The personnel will conduct tests in the rabies laboratory including the performance of rabies antibody analyses on human and animal sera including serum neutralization and ELISA assays, the interpretation and reporting of serological and diagnostic results, and maintaining the quality system through documentation, review, and trend analysis for all tests as well as corrective action reports and ensuring the quality of test results. The person in this position will also assist with program operations including monitoring quality control data, accuracy of test result entry, SOP precision and necessary updates, monitoring supplies usage and timely ordering.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Biology or related sciences
Highly proficient computer skills including databases, spreadsheets, word processing and data entry are required. The applicant must have excellent written and oral, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and one year experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of laboratory experience in cell biology, clinical laboratory test procedures and quality review
Knowledge and/or experience with project management including computer programs and construction/use of formulas in Excel
