The Department of Comparative Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for tenure-track faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor). Qualifications include Ph.D. (or DVM/MD), postdoctoral experience, ability to develop an extramurally funded research program and commitment to teaching excellence. The research programs of our faculty are funded by NIH, NSF, and other organizations and span complementary biomedical disciplines including muscle, reproductive, developmental and cancer biology, neuroscience, physiology, and epigenetics. The School of Veterinary Medicine is integrated with the broad and deep biomedical science research community at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and makes a strong salary commitment to its faculty.
To complement existing strengths within the department, we are seeking a neuroscientist with expertise in development and disorders of myelin in the central nervous system. Qualified candidates would include those who use stem cell, physiological, genetic, and morphological approaches to characterize developmental mechanisms of neuronal interactions with myelinating glia or exploring remyelination processes after injury, with the goal of informing translational investigations into genetic or acquired myelin disorders.

The candidate will contribute to teaching basic science courses in the veterinary medical student curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with interest/ability to teach in Physiology or Neuroscience courses and who are committed to graduate and postdoctoral research training.
