The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, well-funded research program; engage in interdisciplinary and collaborative research; and teach gross anatomy in the veterinary professional programs.
Candidates must possess a D.V.M. (or equivalent) degree or a minimum of 3 year’s experience teaching veterinary gross anatomy in an AVMA-accredited veterinary institution, in addition to a Ph.D. in a biological science. We seek an anatomist who will educate, train, and mentor professional and graduate students. Primary teaching will be in gross anatomy, with opportunities in microanatomy, depending upon the candidate’s interest and departmental need. We are especially interested in candidates whose research will advance the College’s strategic research focus areas of infectious disease and immunology; cancer; neuroscience; musculoskeletal biology and orthopedics; and animal welfare science.
