    Full-time, 100% (12 month basis) Clinical-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Veterinary Microbiology


    The University of Illinois - College of Veterinary Medicine’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking a clinically trained Diagnostic Veterinary Microbiologist to enhance services for clinicians and referring veterinarians, and to assist with test development, oversight, and reporting. We also envision this individual would field questions from clients relative to appropriate sample collection and submission as well as interpretation of results. A small amount of time may be devoted to instruction in the DVM curriculum. The University of Illinois’ Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) is accredited in the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians, (AAVLD), with ~ 45 faculty and staff. The VDL uses well-equipped laboratories, including a MADLI-TOF Biotyper, micro-broth dilution MIC susceptibility testing, several automated DNA extraction and real-time PCR instruments.

    Minimal requirements are the DVM degree or equivalent and/or Ph.D in Microbiology. Diagnostic laboratory experience is also preferred.

    SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
