The position is defined as approximately 30% teaching and approximately 70% research.

The teaching responsibility includes teaching and directing the 3 credit hour Veterinary Virology course in the Professional Veterinary Medicine curriculum. The course is one of the core offerings of the Department and is taught in a clinically relevant context, as is appropriate for second year veterinary students.

At the College level, the faculty member will actively participate in discussions of curriculum and outcomes, the development of innovative teaching approaches and other teaching related matters that arise.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive, extramurally funded research program in the area of Virology or Viral Immunology and to establish effective collaborations with current WSU programs.

As a faculty member, the successful candidate will be expected to become and remain active in the Department’s graduate program, including mentoring graduate students and serving as a member of student advisory committees.

The successful candidate will be expected to be active in the academic service arena.
