The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences of the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty Position in Dermatology.
The position is at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position is available immediately.
The successful candidate will have expertise in Small and Large Animal Dermatology.
Requirements for the applicant include the DVM/VMD or equivalent degree, completion of a formal residency in Dermatology and board certification or board eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, European College of Veterinary Dermatology or the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.
The missions of the Department are to educate veterinary students and graduate veterinarians and to train residents to meet the needs of the pet-owning public, to provide advanced patient care and to generate new knowledge in pet health by basic and applied research.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to these departmental efforts, by participation in the teaching, service and research programs of the College.
Responsibilities will include clinical, didactic and laboratory teaching of Dermatology to professional students, interns and residents; presentations of continuing education at the local and national levels; and, contribution to the Clinical Research Program.
The University of Tennessee Small Animal Hospital is a comprehensive and completely equipped facility, with the expertise needed to provide advanced medical care and to support research programs. Specialty services supported by departmental Faculty include: Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Radiology and Radiation Biology, Anesthesiology, Physical Therapy, Zoo, Exotic and Avian Medicine and Surgery and the U.T. Center for the Management of Animal Pain.
Facilities include: Nuclear Medicine, Computerized Tomography, MRI, Radiation Therapy, Video Endoscopy and Otoscopy, Laparoscopy, Lithotripsy, DEXA Scanning and Physical Therapy.
The Hospital provides emergency and critical care service 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
