A Postdoctoral Position in Bacteriology is available, starting January 2, 2010, in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island.
Funding is available for 1 year, with possible continuation.
Research will focus on the molecular aspects of anitmicrobial resistance of foodborne pathogens and vaccine development.
A Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology is required for consideration.
The preferred person would be experienced in Molecular Microbiology techniques, such as transposon mutagenesis, real-time PCR, protein purification, western blotting, etc. Additionally, experience in animal experiment work and vaccine development will be highly valued.

The starting date is negotiable, but will not be later than February 1, 2010.
The salary is commensurate with qualifications.
