Faculty Position – Molecular Helminthology/Graduate Teaching

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Professor in Molecular Helminthology and Graduate Teaching in the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health.

The candidate will be expected to engage in cutting edge molecular helminthology research and to establish collaborative projects. They will be expected to obtain some salary support from sponsored grants. In addition, the individual will engage in Graduate/DVM teaching particularly in the area of molecular biology, including molecular biology laboratory techniques. Some time will be devoted to faculty affairs and committee service.

Candidates must have a PhD and will likely have held the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher) for at least 5 years. The appointee will have a research focus in molecular helminthology and with special consideration given to work on schistosomes. Experience in the areas of RNAi and CRISPR technology is required and preference will be given to applicants with additional experience in vaccine development and drug discovery. A history of strong scholarly activity is expected. The successful candidate must have demonstrated distinction as a teacher in professional/graduate programs; topics include molecular and cellular biology, immunology, molecular parasitology and associated laboratories.
