The Department of Pathobiological Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking candidates for a clinical- or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the field of clinical pathology.

The candidate will join departmental faculty with expertise in infectious diseases (immunology, parasitology, bacteriology, virology, epidemiology, and public health) and comparative pathology (anatomic and clinical) and strong interactions with oncology, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, special species medicine, and the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Minimum requirements include a DVM or equivalent, ACVP or ECVCP board certification or eligibility, and licensure or eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin. Two to three years of post-residency experience in diagnostic clinical pathology and a PhD are preferred but not required. The selected individual will support UW Veterinary Care through performance of clinical pathology service. He or she will participate in training clinical pathology residents, contribute to the professional veterinary student instructional program, and also may contribute to other courses in the veterinary medical, undergraduate, or graduate student curricula. In addition to clinical service and instruction, the selected individual will be expected to develop an active scholarly program. For an individual on the clinical track, this could include advancing the discipline of clinical pathology through creation and dissemination of new knowledge and participating in collaborative research by providing expertise to clinical and translational research or basic science animal-based research conducted by faculty who would benefit from the insights and expertise of a clinical pathologist. If the individual has sufficient research training and credentials to be appointed on the tenure rack, it is expected he or she will develop an extramurally funded research program resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
