Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Veterinary Dermatology. Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for an academic-track (50% clinics/50% teaching and scholarly activity) assistant/associate/full professor faculty position in veterinary dermatology. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of an American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) or European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) residency. Preference will be given to individuals who are ACVD or ECVD board certified. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience, and Cummings School has a progressive external consulting policy allowing for salary supplementation. Strengths are required in teaching, research, and clinical service. Excellent opportunities exist to build clinical and translational research collaborations with researchers on all three campuses of Tufts University, within the New England medical community, and beyond.

This position will establish a two faculty dermatology service, which operates within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals and also serves the Hospital for Large Animals. Both hospitals are located in North Grafton, MA and are part of Cummings Veterinary Medical Center, which serves the New England region. Clinical responsibilities include supervision of the service, instruction of clinical-year students, and supervision of interns and residents in all aspects of dermatology, primary case management, and oversight of patients. Enthusiasm for teaching is a requirement for this position and additional responsibilities include didactic teaching and participation in preclinical labs. Ample time exists to take advantage of the collaborative environment for clinical and basic research, and all scholarly activity is valued in the school’s promotions process.

This position is available immediately and the search will continue until a suitable candidate is identified. Applicants should submit a letter of intent outlining their interests, experience, and qualifications, current curriculum vitae, and three professional references via Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/53448 . Inquiries can be directed to Dr. Leslie Sharkey (Leslie.Sharkey@tufts.edu), chair of Clinical Sciences, for more information about the dermatology service and this position.
