The individual selected to join the team of food animal faculty members will provide independent primary clinical care and case management, participate in teaching and service within the Food Animal Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, provide didactic lectures in the professional curriculum, and participate in graduate student and resident training programs. Tenure track positions include an expectation of independent and/or collaborative research. Clinical assignments will be performed in the food animal hospital services.
The duties of this position will be divided between clinical service responsibilities, scholarly efforts, didactic lectures in the professional curriculum, and training of graduate students and residents. Clinical responsibilities will include independent, primary case care within the Food Animal Section. Teaching activities will be conducted principally in a clinical setting. The food animal caseload consists predominately of beef cattle and small ruminants, and includes dairy cattle, camelids, and swine.
The percent effort allocation toward clinical responsibilities and teaching, research, and outreach and service will be established to meet the incumbent’s qualifications and interests and the needs of the Food Animal Services.
