Tenure-Track or Clinical Track Assistant Professor of Farm Animal Medicine. The University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery to begin employment in the spring of 2020. The faculty position is full time, tenure or clinical track, in the college’s Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. Candidates must have a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree, have completed a clinical residency program, and have board certification or be qualified to take the certifying examination in Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or Large Animal Surgery (ACVS). Preference will be given to applicants with a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) and extensive experience with livestock and companion farm animals including beef and dairy cattle, sheep and goats, camelids, and swine.

The position effort allocation will be weighted based on the successful candidate’s professional career aspirations: Clinic service and teaching, didactic and laboratory teaching, research or scholarly activities, and service. The faculty member will share in the clinical and didactic teaching of students in the veterinary curriculum, the training of interns and residents in their specialty emphasis area, and mentoring of graduate students when appropriate. The faculty member will be expected to participate in clinical emergency duty with other faculty.
