Clinical Faculty Position in Anesthesiology

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University invites applications for a clinical track position in the Section of Anesthesiology. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree, and should be board certified or board eligible by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. The candidate will be expected to have experience in clinical anesthetic management of small, large, and exotic animals, and have a focus on teaching students and residents and collaborative research.

The section of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Cornell currently has four ACVAA board-certified faculty members, four residents, and eight veterinary technicians who work in a modern, well-equipped teaching hospital with a diverse large, small, and exotic animal caseload. Cornell University is a world-class teaching, clinical, and research institution. There are extensive opportunities on campus for collaboration with basic scientists and clinicians of all disciplines. Additionally, Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City provides the opportunity to participate in an established anesthesia residency elective rotation program.

Responsibilities will be determined in accordance with the service needs, academic priorities, and the candidate’s areas of clinical research interest within the specialty of anesthesia. Effort will be distributed among clinical teaching and service in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, research, and didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students and residents.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
