Tenure-track Faculty Position
Assistant Professor of Veterinary Parasitology

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Comparative Pathobiology (www.vet.purdue.edu/cpb) invites applications for an academic-year (9-month), tenure-track position in Veterinary Parasitology at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program in host-parasite interactions, to teach veterinary parasitology in the D.V.M. program, and to assist the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory personnel in parasitology diagnostics. Applicants must have a D.V.M. (or equivalent) and/or Ph.D. in parasitology or related field.

The Department of Comparative Pathobiology has 36 faculty members and approximately 45 graduate students. Faculty members have expertise and research interests in microbiology, virology, immunology, molecular genetics, vaccine development, parasitology, pathology, cancer, toxicology, public health, epidemiology, human-animal interactions, and animal welfare. The College of Veterinary Medicine has a strong focus on comparative medicine, providing expertise and facilities to support preclinical & translational biomedical investigations. In addition, Purdue University provides exciting opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary research through the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded Purdue University Center for Cancer Research, the Bindley Bioscience Center and Birck Nanotechnology Center in Discovery Park (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/), the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, Indiana Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Purdue Institute of Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Disease (PI4D) and other academic departments and centers.
