Full Time Faculty Positions - College of Veterinary Medicine

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Long Island University (LIU) in Brookville, New York invites applications from self-directed, motivated individuals to join LIU-CVM faculty in the fields of Veterinary Anatomy, Animal Nutrition, and Animal Behavior and Welfare. The position may be filled at a full-time tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.

We are seeking PhD and DVM academics interested in teaching in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. Successful candidates must be engaged in educational, research and service activities. Priority review will be given to candidates whose strength is teaching, with exhibited skill in curriculum development, implementation, and innovation. Additionally, successful candidates must be naturally adept at promoting LIU-CVM's mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through scholarly activity and teaching excellence to a variety of stakeholders.

All Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor candidates will be responsible for developing, and seeking funding for, independent and/or collaborative research programs that contribute to the overall mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Active engagement in curriculum development, identification or creation of innovative learning resources, and committee service participation (such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) is expected.

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Long Island University:
Currently, with over thirty off-campus clinical sites, LIU CVM will utilize a distributed model of clinical education. Underway and soon to be completed are physical facilities with advanced equipment designed to accommodate specific instructional needs connected to the delivery of the DVM program.

The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree, PhD or other earned post-graduate degree in biomedical sciences. Candidates will have a record of scholarly achievement as an independent and/or collaborative researcher consistent with appointed rank. Additionally, candidates will have a strong commitment to professional DVM and graduate student education, proven strength in teaching in large and small group settings, good communication skills, and the ability to embrace and promote a culture of diversity, inclusiveness and collegiality.
