POSITION
We are seeking a highly qualified lecturer with an emphasis in biomedical anatomy. This is a 9-month, non-tenure track position with responsibilities for teaching (90%) and service (10%). Additional time can be considered based on teaching needs, research support and service commitments over the summer.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching responsibilities will include instruction at the undergraduate level in the Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) program for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS). The incumbent will teach courses in gross anatomy and other pertinent program-specific courses to students enrolled in the biomedical sciences and other biology-related majors at the McAllen (Texas) campus.
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s in biology, biomedical sciences, or other closely related biomedical field, including degrees in health professions, with a demonstrated desire and ability to teach and develop a strong program in undergraduate education is required. Ability to mentor undergraduate students is required. Applicant must be proficient in oral and written communications and must have human relations skills to work closely with students from diverse backgrounds. Computer proficiency is required. The successful applicant is expected to serve on faculty committees to advance the BIMS program.
The incumbent will have opportunities to interact and collaborate with faculty within the Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences (VIBS), and the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the College Station campus.
SALARY
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
