Tenure Track Assistant / Associate Professor in One Health/Veterinary Sciences
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore seeks outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor with a research focus in the area of One Health and/or Veterinary Sciences.
We encourage applications from candidates whose research integrates biological sciences with veterinary or One Health approaches. Areas of particular interest include host–pathogen interactions, zoonotic diseases, veterinary infectious diseases, immunology, and comparative biomedical research. Candidates who employ molecular, cellular, or systems-level approaches to address challenges at the animal–human health interface are especially encouraged to apply.
SBS is searching for individuals with a well-deļ¬ned research vision and an outstanding track record of publications in top journals. The successful candidate will establish and maintain an independent extramurally funded research program. The successful candidate is expected to show a strong commitment to departmental undergraduate and graduate mentoring and teaching.
SBS hosts a vibrant research community spanning genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and microbiology, providing strong foundations for interdisciplinary collaborations within the school and across NTU. The university offers a highly collaborative research environment with access to a wide range of core facilities supporting advanced biomedical and life sciences research. The successful candidate will have access to these resources and will be encouraged to establish interdisciplinary collaborations with other Schools and Research Institutes across campus, including those with expertise in medicine, public health, environmental life sciences, and translational biomedical research.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program in One Health and/or Veterinary Sciences.
- Demonstrate research excellence through high-impact publications and/or translational outcomes.
- Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in biological sciences, veterinary sciences, and/or One Health-related topics.
- Supervise research students and mentor junior faculty, as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively across disciplines within the School and with external stakeholders in academia, industry, and government.
- Participate in departmental, school, and university service activities.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D., D.V.M./V.M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in Biological Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, One Health, or a related field.
- A strong research track record in areas such as host–pathogen interactions, zoonotic diseases, veterinary infectious diseases, or comparative biomedical research.
- Experience with molecular, cellular, and/or systems biology approaches relevant to animal and human health.
- Evidence of independent research capability and potential to secure competitive research funding.
- A commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- For Associate Professor applicants: demonstrated academic leadership, sustained research productivity, and a proven record of mentoring and educational contribution.
Emoluments:
The candidate will be offered an attractive compensation package and will be supported by generous start-up funds and laboratory space.
