Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU), Pomona, California, invites applications for several full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in the following disciplines:

  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Equine Surgery or Medicine
  • Nutrition
  • Physiology
  • Shelter Medicine
  • Small Animal Internal Medicine
  • Small Animal Surgery
  • Theriogenology


Successful candidates are expected to pursue scholarly activities and will participate in DVM degree courses at all levels of the academic program, including facilitating small group learning as part of our Problem-Based Learning curriculum.

WesternU CVM seeks team-oriented educators with strong communication skills who will take responsibility for implementing a professional curriculum founded on the principles of

1) student-centered, self-directed learning,

2) reverence for life, and

3) excellence in clinical education through the development of strategic partnerships.

Primary duties are instructional and assignments will be based on college needs and candidate expertise. Contribution to internal CVM educational or academic initiatives and participation in faculty committees is expected. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities to support areas of academic/discipline interest and interdisciplinary projects. Candidates with strong research interests and productivity are preferred.

A DVM or PhD or equivalent degree in a related field and postdoctoral experience is required. An advanced degree and/or specialty board certification representing strong contemporary knowledge of veterinary medicine or of a relevant discipline is preferred. Academic rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
