The Department of Veterinary Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University (ISU), located in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a full-time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in Anatomic Pathology. The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank.

Position responsibilities include a primary commitment to service.  The department has a busy and expanding biopsy service with submissions from the ISU Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC) as well as practicing veterinarians in Iowa and the surrounding region.  The department also provides a complete necropsy service for the diverse species submitted to the ISU small and large animal clinics.  These necropsy cases provide material for instructing senior veterinary students and pathology residents in necropsy techniques and lesion interpretation.   The department has a strong commitment to teaching and the successful candidate is expected to actively participate in the teaching mission of the department, which offers courses in anatomic pathology and pathology-related disciplines to undergraduate, professional (DVM) and graduate students.  The candidate is expected to advance the discipline of anatomic pathology through creation and dissemination of new knowledge and participating in collaborative research by providing expertise to faculty who would benefit from the insights and expertise of an anatomic pathologist.
