Faculty Position in Large Animal Equine Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care

The Department of Clinical Sciences with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications for a tenure track or clinical track faculty position in the Section of Large Animal Medicine. This position will result in a total of four large animal internists with the goals of supporting robust pre-clinical and clinical research programs, providing excellent services in the Hospital, and maintaining a strong teaching and outreach program. The Large Animal Medicine service is supported by experienced, licensed technicians (LVT’s) during regular and after-hours, with four internal medicine residents in a comprehensive, state-of-the-art teaching and referral hospital. The Cornell University Hospital for Animals is equipped with extensive therapeutic and diagnostic equipment including portable ultrasound, video-endoscopy, point-of-care testing, 1.5 tesla MRI, 16-slice CT, nuclear imaging and easy access to the Cornell Animal Health Diagnostic Center.

Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Board certified in large animal internal medicine (ACVIM or ECVIM) and board eligible or board certified in large animal critical care (ACVECC or ECVECC) required.

The successful candidate will assist in expansion of the Emergency Critical Care (ECC) rotation, providing more learning opportunities for students in ECC. This individual will contribute to lecture and laboratory offerings in the Large Animal Medicine sections and contribute to improvements of our peri-operative emergency patient care. In addition, this individual will help with the expansion of the ECC service and expertise, providing more learning opportunities for fellows and residents in ECC.

Salary ranges:  Tenure Track– 120K to $220K; Clinical Track - $100K to $180K
