Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor in Emergency and Critical Care. Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a clinical track faculty position in Emergency & Critical Care at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of an American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) or ECVECC residency. Preference will be given to individuals who are ACVECC or ECVECC board certified. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience. Strengths are required in teamwork, clinical teaching, scholarship, and clinical service.

The selected candidate will join six other faculty members on the Emergency Critical Care Service within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals in North Grafton, MA. Faculty in ECC cover daytime, swing, and weekend shifts in the ER and ICU, overseeing the busy clinical services with an amazing caseload. Enthusiasm for teaching students, nurses, interns and residents is required. Some flexibility in scheduling is required, with shifts shared between faculty. Faculty often manage cases, may participate in emergency receiving, and accept internal transfers as service needs require.

The selected candidate is expected to participate in education of residents and interns in all aspects of emergency and critical care, including boards review sessions, journal club, and communications training. One-on-one resident mentorship, including supervising resident research projects, is expected. Specific research interests of the current faculty include infectious disease, coagulation, respiratory medicine, biostatistics, and military working dogs. All faculty are involved in VETCOT and RECOVER initiatives, as well as the Northeast Emergency and Critical Care Specialist working group.

This position is available July 1, 2019. Applicants should submit materials through this Interfolio link https://apply.interfolio.com/64036, including a letter of intent outlining their interests, experience, and qualifications, current curriculum vitae, and the names of three professional references. Inquiries can be directed to Dr. Armelle de Laforcade (Armelle.DeLaforcade@tufts.edu) in ECC.
