The successful candidate will join a team of 7 anatomic pathologists in sharing diagnostic services, teaching, resident training and scholarship for our College’s academic programs and referral hospital. The anatomic pathology service has a robust and diverse case load derived from our veterinary medical center, referring veterinary clinics, a large felid sanctuary, the Knoxville Zoo, local wildlife, etc., providing abundant opportunities for teaching, discovery and scholarship in a highly collegial and collaborative environment.

We are seeking candidates who can make meaningful contributions to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. Qualified applicants must have: (1) a DVM (or equivalent degree); (2) board certification in anatomic pathology from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, or eligibility to complete the ACVP board certification examination in 2019; (3) excellent verbal and written communication skills; and (4) the ability to work well with others in a collegial, team atmosphere. Teaching responsibilities include didactic lectures in all years of the pre-clinical curriculum and instruction of 4th year veterinary students during their pathology rotation. The specific service, teaching, and research effort allocation is flexible, depending on the candidate’s interests and expertise.
