The Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (VMDL), Department of Veterinary Pathobiology is searching a full-time faculty member to serve as the One Health Laboratory Section Head. This position will be responsible for establishing a One Health Lab, obtaining CLIA certification and additional federal and international certifications that are needed to conduct animal rabies diagnostic testing, human rabies titer testing, certifying pets for travel, and evaluating vaccine efficacy and prophylaxis biologics. This position will also be involved in teaching veterinary professional students, training diagnostic residents, and engaging public to promote Rabies awareness.
Hold an earned doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution and:
Be certified by the American Board of Medical Microbiology, the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, the American Board of Bioanalysts, or the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology, or have at least one year experience directing or supervising non-waived testing.
