Department Chair/Tenure-Track Faculty, Veterinary Technology
The Department of Veterinary Technology at Medaille College invites applications for the position of Department Chair. This position is a tenure-track teaching position at the rank of associate or full professor; academic rank will be commensurate with prior teaching experience. Medaille offers degree programs in Veterinary Technology at its Buffalo (AS/BS) and Rochester (AAS) campuses as well as online (AAS). The appointment is scheduled to begin in July 2019.
To be considered, applicants must hold a terminal degree (DVM or VMD) in Veterinary Medicine and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Candidates should have an ability to teach a variety of animal courses at the Veterinary Technician level. The successful candidate will join our existing faculty in providing clinical and didactic teaching of students, as well as contributing to the scholarly mission of the College.
This position requires knowledge of curriculum development, policy development, student learning outcomes, program accreditation, departmental budgeting, schedule development, and faculty and staff evaluation. The chair will continue to develop and maintain a culture of collaboration and collegiality.
