The Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine seeks applications for a qualified tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the area of Veterinary Clinical Toxicology. This position involves research, teaching, and diagnostic toxicology service. The successful candidates will have a teaching role in the professional and graduate curricula, with an emphasis in Toxicology. Veterinary diagnostic toxicology service for the animal industry in Louisiana at Louisiana Animal Disease and Diagnostic Laboratory (LADDL). Training of residents, contributing to scholarly activity and leadership within the department are also expected. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, extramurally well-funded research program; engage in interdisciplinary and collaborative research; as well as teach in the graduate or veterinary professional programs. A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications as well as evidence of a potential for teaching and mentorship are desired. The successful applicant must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere. The Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (https://lsu.edu/vetmed/cbs/index.php) features research programs in basic and translational research in diverse areas of biomedical sciences including cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, developmental biology, neurosciences, pharmacology and toxicology. Additional programs exist with opportunities for collaboration within the School of Veterinary Medicine and with faculty from across other Louisiana institutions, including Pennington Biomedical and Tulane National Primate Research Center. University core facilities support advanced microscopy and imaging, laser microdissection, multispectral imaging, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, flow cytometry-FACS, genomic sequencing and functional genomic technologies. The Department currently has twenty faculty members with a growing research program in toxicology, supports graduate programs at the MS and PhD levels, and currently has seven post-doctoral researchers, and twenty-two graduate students.

Assistant Professor of Veterinary Toxicology (Tenure Track)
Minimum Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree (e.g., VMD, DMV, BVSc), and Master and/or PhD in Toxicology or other relevant field.
Specific Experience: Applicants with Postdoctoral or equivalent experience, Diplomate of a recognized Veterinary Specialty of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties or European Board of Veterinary Specialties, and experience in a School/College of Veterinary Medicine are strongly preferred.

Associate Professor of Veterinary Toxicology (Tenure Track)
Minimum Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree (e.g., VMD, DMV, BVSc), and Master and/or PhD in Toxicology or other relevant field and 5 years of related research/teaching/clinical experience.
Specific experience: Applicants with Postdoctoral or equivalent experience, Diplomate of a recognized Veterinary Specialty of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties or European Board of Veterinary Specialties, and experience in a School/College of Veterinary Medicine are strongly preferred.

Professor of Veterinary Toxicology (Tenure Track)
Minimum Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree (e.g., VMD, DMV, BVSc), and Master and/or PhD in Toxicology or other relevant field and 8 years of related research/teaching/clinical experience.
Specific experience: Applicants with Postdoctoral or equivalent experience, Diplomate of a recognized Veterinary Specialty of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties or European Board of Veterinary Specialties, and experience in a School/College of Veterinary Medicine are strongly preferred.

Advanced in Personal interaction – ability to interact with others (verbal and written)
Advanced in Attention to detail – ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment
Advanced in Prioritize and multi-task – ability to prioritize, organize, and perform simultaneously
