    Job Summary

    Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Comparative Pathobiology One Health Epidemiologist

    • Position: One-Health Epidemiologist, Academic Year (9-month), tenure track Assistant professor in
    the Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) at the Purdue University-College of Veterinary
    • Requirements: DVM (or equivalent degree) and a Ph.D. or Dr PH in public health/one
    health/epidemiology field are required.

    • Responsibilities:
    o It is expected that approximately 60-70% of the person’s time will be dedicated to research and
    30-40% teaching. The successful applicant will establish an interdisciplinary and externally-funded
    research program in an area related to one health such as zoonoses, environmental epidemiology,
    molecular epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology,
    syndromic/disease surveillance, disease modeling, animal welfare, the human-animal bond, or
    comparative medicine.
    o This individual will have a leadership role in enhancing, implementing, and coordinating a Public
    Health curriculum for Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing students and will contribute to the
    graduate program in epidemiology by offering a graduate course or field experiences in their area
    of expertise.
    o The successful candidate will mentor MS, PhD and MPH students.
