  • Clinical Track Faculty Position in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology

    The Department of Veterinary Biosciences (VBS), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at The Ohio State University (OSU), is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time clinical track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor-Clinical.

    1. Diagnostic service: The faculty member will participate in the autopsy and surgical biopsy services of the college’s Applied Pathology service. Service duties include: performing standard post-mortem examinations as well as forensic and legal post-mortems; serving as senior pathologist for the biopsy service, and supervising anatomic pathology residents and veterinary students.
    2. Teaching: The faculty member will participate in clinical training of veterinary students as part of the senior student rotation in Applied Pathology and pathology residents in the Combined Anatomic Pathology Residency/PhD Graduate Training Program. Didactic teaching responsibilities will include participation in the professional veterinary medical curriculum and in the courses provided to pathology residents in the Combined Program.
    3. Research and scholarly activity: The faculty member will contribute to collaborative research and scholarly activity synergistic with the College’s research, teaching, and clinical service missions.

    Qualifications: Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) from an AVMA-accredited or equivalent institution and be board certified or board eligible in anatomic pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists or the European College of Veterinary Pathology. A PhD or other advanced training in anatomic pathology is highly desirable. The successful applicant must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, prioritize collegiality, and demonstrate effectiveness in teamwork.

    The Department comprises 25 faculty, including 11 Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (7 certified in anatomic pathology and 4 certified in clinical pathology), and combines the disciplines of oncology, immunology, microbiology, physiology, and anatomy. The College is a member of the most comprehensive Health Sciences Center in America, which includes on a single campus. the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Dentistry, Optometry, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences
