Position Summary
The Director of Small Animal Clinical Care provides leadership, oversight, and direct clinical services for small animals used in veterinary and veterinary medical technology education at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC). This position focuses primarily on dogs and cats and is responsible for ensuring exceptional standards of animal welfare, medical care, and safe teaching practices.
The Director will work closely with DVTC staff to deliver high-quality medical care for animals housed at the facility. They will oversee the appropriate use of small animals in teaching laboratories, support LMU-CVM’s educational mission, and supervise patient care performed by staff and students, ensuring compliance with institutional, accreditation, and federal animal-use regulations.
