The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) seeks to fill a tenure-track, full-time, 12-month position within the Equine Internal Medicine section of its Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The position is offered at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, depending upon qualifications, and is available immediately. The position will join a team whose primary mission is didactic and clinical teaching, clinical service and scholarship.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Successful applicants will have responsibility for participation in clinical, laboratory, and didactic (classroom) teaching of professional veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students; will provide health care and service to patients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital; will advise and consult with referring veterinarians and clients; will develop a creative, independent/collaborative, basic and/or clinically-oriented research program in Equine Internal Medicine; and will provide leadership in directing research projects of residents and graduate students. Successful applicants must be able to effectively communicate, work collegially, and collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies.
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidates must possess a DVM or equivalent degree (such as BVSc), have completed an approved Large Animal Internal Medicine residency before date of hire.
Preferred qualifications include ACVIM or ECVIM board certification (LAIM), a graduate degree in an area related to Veterinary Science, evidence of scholarly productivity, expertise in providing leadership in a clinical setting and evidence of expertise in teaching.
