Expertise: Dr. Chousalkar has a strong research interest in microbiology, molecular diagnostics, egg quality and production. His major research projects have included real time PCR for infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), IBV vaccination and IBV challenge in hens, microbiology of table eggs, egg shell translucency and product safety in the Australian egg industry.

Kapil has more recently also begun work on roles of Vitamin D during bone development using chicken mesenchymal stem cells. This work is a collaboration with Dr. Jane Quinn and Dr. Marie Bhanugopan at CSU
